1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or to work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner. Some cookies last only for the time you are on the site (session cookies). Others stay on your device for a set period (persistent cookies).
This policy explains which cookies we use on www.squeakyproservices.co.uk, what they do, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
2. How we use cookies
We take a minimal approach. We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site behavioural tracking.
The cookies we do use fall into two categories under UK PECR (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) guidance:
- Strictly necessary cookies — needed to make the site work and for security. These do not require your consent.
- Functional cookies — used to remember your booking session so you do not lose progress while filling in a form. These are dropped only once you start the booking flow.
We do not currently use analytics or marketing cookies. If we add them in the future, this page will be updated and we will ask for your consent through a cookie banner before any non-essential cookies are set.
3. Cookies we set
The table below lists the cookies you may encounter on our site:
| Name | Purpose | Type | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
squeaky_session | Keeps your booking-form progress while you fill it in | Strictly necessary | Session (cleared when you close the browser) |
cf_* | Cloudflare DDoS and bot-protection cookies for site security | Strictly necessary | Up to 30 days |
4. Third-party cookies
Some functions of our site depend on third parties who may set their own cookies on your device:
- Stripe — when you pay a deposit or invoice, Stripe loads its checkout from
js.stripe.comand sets cookies needed for fraud prevention and payment processing. See stripe.com/gb/cookie-settings. - Cloudflare — Cloudflare sits in front of our site and may set strictly-necessary security cookies as listed above. See cloudflare.com/cookie-policy.
- Google Calendar booking widget (where present) — if we embed a Google Calendar interface on a future booking page, Google may set cookies. See policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.
We do not control third-party cookies and they are governed by the third party's own cookie and privacy policies.
5. How to control or delete cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Safari: Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of our site (such as the booking form and payment checkout) from working. You can still browse the rest of the site.
For more information on cookies generally, see ico.org.uk/your-data-matters/online/cookies or aboutcookies.org.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookies Policy as our site evolves and as we add or change features. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
